We have an immediate opportunity for a Post-Doctoral Fellow at the University of Western Ontario in London Ontario Canada working in the area of pyroconvection using PEARL measurements, particularly lidar measurements from the 4 lidar systems currently operating at the the Polar Environment Atmospheric Research Laboratory (PEARL) at Eureka, Nunavut (80N, 86W). Further details on CANDAC and PEARL can be found at: http://www.candac.ca

In particular we would like to use PEARL measurements to determine possible effects of stratospheric smoke layers on temperature and ozone abundance. In addition, we are interested in using PEARL measurements to support the "Waves and Coupling" theme of the CANDAC program.

Applicants with a PhD in atmospheric physics or related areas are encouraged to apply. Preference will be give to candidates with experience using atmospheric lidar systems. Research experience in the area of pyroconvection or atmospheric waves will also be a plus. The position is available for up to 2 years, renewable after 1 year. Salary is dependent on experience.
