Post-Doctoral in Space Plasma Physics at the University of Texas at Arlington
Post-Doctoral Research Position in Space Plasma Physics at the University of Texas at Arlington. The position involves numerical simulations of the interaction between Jupiter and its satellite Io in order to understand the physical mechanisms in producing observed Jovian auroral spots and radio emissions. The candidate should have a demonstrated capability in programming skills and graphical displays. Experience in parallel processing, specifically Message Passing Interface (MPI), would be advantageous although not essential. Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree in Space Physics or a relevant discipline at the time of appointment. Salary and benefits will be competitive. Initial appointment will be for one year, with funding available for extension for one or more further years pending performance.
