Faculty Position in Physics and Integrated Applied Mathematics at the University of New Hampshire - due 1 Dec
The Department of Physics at the University of New Hampshire (UNH) invites applications for a tenure track position at the rank of Assistant Professor. Exceptional candidates at a higher rank may also be considered. The position is partially supported by the newly established Center for Integrated Computation and Analysis of Reconnection and Turbulence (CICART) (a collaboration with Dartmouth College) under the auspices of the DoE EPSCoR program, and will be affiliated with the Integrated Applied Mathematics (IAM) Program, which is expected to be inaugurated in the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences (CEPS) in Fall, 2008. We seek faculty who are qualified to teach in the Department of Physics as well as the IAM Program, and can contribute substantially to the multidisciplinary research program of CICART, which includes applied mathematics, astrophysics, computational physics, fluid dynamics, fusion, and space plasma physics. All candidates with potential connections to the CICART research mission will be considered, but preference will be given to candidates with strong background and experience in computational physics and high-performance computing. Successful candidates will be expected to develop externally funded research programs and strengthen interdisciplinary research activities in the IAM program and CICART.
