Research Position in Magnetospheric Physics at Univ of New Hampshire
The Space Science Center of the University of New Hampshire invites applications for a Research Scientist II position in magnetospheric physics. The successful applicant will carry out research using data analysis (primarily data from the THEMIS probes) and global modeling, in one or more of the following areas: magnetotail and substorm dynamics, magnetic storms, magnetosphere - ionosphere coupling, and plasma transport in the magnetosphere. A strong background in magnetospheric and space plasma physics, as well as experience in data analysis and/or large scale modeling is desirable. A Ph.D. in magnetospheric physics or a closely related field, with experience in computer programming in a UNIX/LINUX/OSX environment, and with general knowledge of data analysis tools like Matlab or IDL is preferred.
