The Department of Environmental, Earth and Atmospheric Sciences (EEAS) and the Center for Atmospheric Research (UMLCAR) seek a senior level individual to fill a tenure-track or tenured faculty position at the University of Massachusetts Lowell. The successful candidate must have a proven record of significant publications and funded research in the areas of UMLCAR's current activities, and the capability to assume a leadership role in the Center's research and operations. UMLCAR is actively engaged in radio science research including ground and space-based instrumentation, and in exploration and modeling of space plasmas, especially the ionosphere and magnetosphere (http://umlcar.uml.edu/).
The candidate will be expected to teach at the graduate and undergraduate levels. The University invites applications from candidates with a Ph.D., at least 5 years of relevant experience, teaching experience, and a record of leadership and successful grants activity.
The Department anticipates filling the position in Fall 2009 although this is contingent upon the timing and availability of funding. Rank and salary commensurate with qualifications.
