Two Postdocs in Space Physics at the University of Michigan

The Center for Space Environment Modeling at the University of Michigan conducts research in many different fields of geospace and the Mars space environment, such as magnetosphere-solar wind coupling, inner magnetospheric dynamics, magnetosphere-ionosphere coupling, thermospheric and ionospheric dynamics, and data assimilation. CSEM is interested in hiring two Post-Doctoral Fellows to participate in this broad range of research. Because of the modeling focus of the group, preferred applicants should have intimate familiarity with modeling techniques and should have some expertise utilizing models to conduct research. Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree in Space Physics or a relevant discipline. The initial appointment will be for one year, but a renewal is possible, contingent on performance and the availability of funding. An Assistant Research Scientist position, which is a regular staff position and not limited to the fixed-year duration, may be sought if the applicant has substantial relevant experience. The University of Michigan is a Non-discriminatory, Affirmative Action Employer.

To apply, please send a curriculum vitae, a statement of research interests, and contact information for three or more references, to Mike Liemohn (liemohn@umich.edu) or Aaron Ridley (ridley@umich.edu).
