The Department of Astrophysical and Planetary Sciences at the University of Colorado, Boulder, is seeking a qualified individual for a three year fellowship appointment. This is not a tenure track faculty position. It is a fellowship supported by the Department of Astrophysical and Planetary Science and will carry the title of Visiting Fellow. A Ph.D. in astronomy, physics or related field is required.
The successful candidate will be expected to teach two courses/ semester, as assigned by the department, and perform independent research. The salary is $5000/month. The department will provide $45,000/year (75% of the appointment); the additional 25% of salary can be earned if external funding sources are available. The successful candidate is expected to maintain a research program in addition to the teaching requirements, and will be expected to pursue external grant funding. The position can start as early as the fall semester of 2006.
