Research Job, Space Plasma Physics, UCLA, Los Angeles - due 15 Feb

UCLA solicits applications for a Researcher at the Assistant or Associate level in the field of experimental Space Plasma Physics at the Institute of Geophysics and Planetary Physics. The institute's Space Physics Center carries out investigations of the solar wind and the magnetospheres, ionospheres and atmospheres of the Earth, planets and their satellites. The successful candidate should have a doctoral degree in the field of space plasma physics and a demonstrated capability for independent research. The responsibilities of the candidate would be to analyze, interpret and model data from the recently launched NASA THEMIS mission, the upcoming ARTEMIS extended mission, and the four-spacecraft NASA-ESA mission Cluster in one of the areas (particles or fields) that matches the candidate's strengths and interests. The successful candidate will join and contribute to a diverse and broad space physics research group headed by Professor Margaret Kivelson and would participate in research analyzing data from both space and ground based instruments.
