Planetary atmospheres modelling job at University College London, UK - due 31 Aug

University College London, Department of Physics and Astronomy, New Lecturer in Planetary Physics (Ref: APL02)

A vacancy exists to carry out research within the Atmospheric Physics Laboratory (http://www.apl.ucl.ac.uk) in the Astrophysics Group (http://www.star.ucl.ac.uk) of the Department of Physics and Astronomy at UCL ().

Applications are invited from atmospheric physicists, or those in allied disciplines, to strengthen the team working on modelling of planetary atmospheres. Applicants should have a good research track record and be able to display initiative and independent thought. The group plays a major role in the UCL-Birkbeck Centre for Planetary Physics and Astrobiology to which the post-holder should contribute.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach at undergraduate and postgraduate level, and to take an active role in planning and managing the planetary modelling research of the group, and in particular a projected MSc in Planetary Physics. Candidates wishing to transfer a long-term fellowship are welcome to apply.

The salary will be in the Lecturer range: 28,010GBP to 37,642GBP, plus London Allowance 2,400GBP and relocation benefits. The appointment grade will be commensurate with accomplishment and experience.
