Research Associate or Postdoc in Space Physics at the Univ of Alberta, Canada

A Research Associate or PDF position is available in the Space Physics Group at the University of Alberta. Successful applicants will have a PhD in space physics, plasma physics, or applied mathematics. Candidates should have experience in data analysis, and a strong background in computer simulation using MHD and/or kinetic theory. Topics of interest include auroral physics, ULF plasma waves, plasma instabilities, the physics of Earth's radiation belts, and Global MHD Modeling. The scientific position will support the "Canadian Geospace Monitoring Program" (CGSM) that is based on a major expansion of the Canadian Space Agency funded CANOPUS project (http://www.cgsm.ca). The University of Alberta is a top-ranked Canadian University, with approximately 34,000 students, state of the art research facilities, and high-end computing infrastructure (http://www.westgrid.ca).
