Job Summary
The Geophysical Institute at the University of Alaska Fairbanks invites applications for the position of Post Doctoral Fellow to work in the Space Physics. The selected candidate is expected to participate in a project of numerical simulation studies of small scale ionospheric and aurora phenomena. A PhD in Physics is required. Candidates are also required to have experience in MHD or multi-fluid plasma simulations, and have a background in ionospheric or magnetospheric physics.
If this appointment extends beyond one year, in subsequent years, for purposes of collective bargaining, this position will be represented by a union. At that time, the successful candidate will be obligated to pay to the union an agency fee as a condition of employment. A background investigation may be completed on the final candidate once a job offer has been made.
