Research-to-Applications Scientist/Programmer at SEC/NOAA, Boulder - due 30 Nov
Physicist, ZP-1310-IV, ($76,123-$116,942)(Boulder, Colorado) The National Weather Service's Space Environment Center (SEC) of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has a Research-to-Applications Scientist/Programmer position open that requires experience and knowledge of the space environment from Sun to Earth and how both physics-based and empirical models are developed for the various regions of the space environment. The primary task of this job will be to transition research models and products into operations. In addition, the incumbent will develop new and improve upon existing models and products. The incumbent will need to interact not only with the forecast and research staff at SEC but also with other agencies and organizations dedicated to product and model transition and data assimilation. The incumbent will be required to work as part of a team and to be able to present ideas and results in both oral and written formats.
