Postdoc with Space Dynamics Laboratory (UT) at AFRL, MA

Space Dynamics Laboratory is seeking a postdoctoral scientist to conduct research on the chemistry of the upper atmosphere and space. The location of the position will be at the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) at Hanscom AFB located in Bedford, MA. The research focus is on the analysis of NASA SABER and ESA MIPAS satellite data of infrared emissions in the upper atmosphere, including modeling of the chemical processes involved and the impact on the atmospheric energy budget. The project includes collaboration with scientists from AFRL, NASA and ESA. The position is expected to have a term of at least one year, with possibility of a second year based on projected funding levels.

Requirements: Applicants with a Ph.D. in Atmospheric Sciences, Physical Chemistry, Physics or a related discipline are encouraged to apply. Experience with atmospheric retrievals and/or molecular spectroscopy, as well as programming experience would be useful. Background in quantum chemical calculations would be helpful, but is not necessary. The candidate must be a US citizen.
