Post-Doc with SuperDARN at University of Alaska - due 18 May
The Space Physics Group at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, Geophysical Institute invites applications for the position of a Post Doctoral Fellow to work with the SuperDARN radar network. The group has the opportunity for an energetic individual to take part in ongoing hardware and software ware developments for the radar systems. The selected candidate will be expected to assist with the day-to-day operation of the radars and to develop a program of research in space physics, aeronomy, or radio science. A Ph.D. in physics or electrical engineering is required, with preference given to applicants with experimental experience in radio or radar systems, and background in magnetospheric physics or ionospheric/thermospheric physics. If this appointment extends beyond one year, in subsequent years, for purposes of collective bargaining, this position will be represented by a union. Salary will depend on experience, and this position will be open until filled with a review date of May 18, 2005. A background investigation may be completed on the final candidate once a job offer has been made.
