Postdoc in modeling at Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory

The Space Plasma Physics group at Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory seeks to fill a research position in theoretical space plasma physics. The candidate would be expected to participate in kinetic modeling of waves and instabilities and associated transport in the magnetospheric environment using theory and numerical simulation. Previous experience with particle-in-cell or Vlasov simulation techniques would be desirable. Candidates would be expected to collaborate with the space/solar physics group in the current research areas including: instabilities and transport at the magnetopause; current-driven instabilities in the ionosphere; nonlinear dynamics and predictive modeling of the magnetosphere; and 3D solar equilibria and eruptive phenomena.

Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package. Princeton offers a stimulating work environment and opportunities to interact with scientists working on cutting edge plasma physics research.

For specifics about the position, contact Jay R. Johnson (609 243-2603, jrj@pppl.gov). Interested candidates should send his/her CV and publications list and a list of three references to jrj@pppl.gov. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.
