NSERC UFA Professional Engineer job at ISAS, U Saskatchewan, Canada - due 28 Feb

Applications are invited for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level in the Department of Physics and Engineering Physics. Candidates eligible for an NSERC University Faculty Award (UFA) are also encouraged to self identify. (All qualified NSERC-UFA candidates, according to the UFA program guidelines, must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents at the UFA nomination deadline date.)

Research responsibilities will lie within the 'Institute of Space and Atmospheric Studies', a research unit within the department. Themes for this position include: coupling of the neutral and ionized atmospheric components; the physics of space plasmas, including ionospheric and magnetospheric processes; solar wind-magnetosphere-ionosphere coupling; 'Space Weather'; involvements with the SuperDARN radar network and/or complementary systems; remote sensing and radar techniques. ISAS programs are international, collaborative, include observational elements, and are strongly linked to the 'Solar Terrestrial and Atmospheric Sciences' program of the Canadian Space Agency. Candidates must possess a Ph.D. degree, or equivalent, in either physics or engineering and have post-doctoral or industrial experience. The status of (or eligibility for registration as) a 'Professional Engineer' is required. Applications should include statements of teaching interests and philosophy, a research proposal (about 3 pages), a curriculum vitae, examples of recent publications and the names of at least three referees.
