Postdoc in Space Physics Data Analysis/Modeling of Cassini/Saturn at LANL, NM
The Space Science and Applications Group (ISR-1) is seeking a candidate for a postdoctoral position in space physics data analysis and modeling. The position will focus on the analysis, interpretation, and modeling of data obtained by the Cassini plasma spectrometer (CAPS) at Saturn in addition to supporting Cassini data sets. Research topics include: global and local Saturn magnetospheric physics and interactions of icy satellites and rings with the environment. The work will involve strong interactions with Los Alamos staff currently doing both theoretical and observational space plasma research, with the expectation that the research will result in scientific publications.
Required Skills: Must have good oral and written communication skills; experience with the analysis of space plasma data and publication of results; experience with the manipulation of large data sets; ability to work as part of an international research team.
Education: A Ph.D. in Space Physics or Plasma Physics completed within the last 5 years or soon to be completed is required.
