Summer Program for Students at Jicamarca Radio Obs in Peru - due 28 Feb
Starting summer (June-August) 2006, the Jicamarca Radio Observatory will host at least two students from non-Peruvian institutions. This program will be an extension of our successful year-round trainee program for Peruvian students. The students will work with staff engineers and scientists on projects related to ongoing research or instrumentation development programs.
The program is funded by the US National Science Foundation. Funding will include a stipend and travel to and from Lima for a flexible 10-week period beginning mid May. The program is offered to junior/senior undergraduates or first/second year graduate students. Students interested in neutral atmospheric, ionospheric science, radar/radio instrumentation, electronics, RF and computer science are encouraged to apply.
