From: Eivor Jonsson (eivor.jonsson@irf.se)

The Swedish Institute of Space Physics in Kiruna invites applications for five PhD student positions. The National Graduate School of Space Technology (at Luleå University of Technology) will support the positions financially for a period of up to 5 years.

The research projects are related to:

upper atmosphere in the Arctic and Antarctic. Ref no. 134-154/08. For informal enquiries please contact Prof. Sheila Kirkwood, (sheila.kirkwood@irf.se).

  • Physics of the environments of Mars, Venus and

the Moon using data from the satellite missions Mars Express, Venus Express, and Chandrayaan-1. Ref no. 134-128/08. Contact Prof. Stas Barabash, (stas.barabash@irf.se).

Earth's magnetosphere using data from, e.g., the Cluster spacecraft. Ref no. 134-118/08. Contact Ass. Prof. (Docent) Hans Nilsson, (hans.nilsson@irf.se).

  • Auroral processes in the ionosphere and

termosphere using ground-based optical observations combined with other instruments. Ref no. 134-152/08. Contact Prof. Ingrid Sandahl, (auroraphd@irf.se).
