Postdocs at HAO/NCAR, Boulder, CO - due 5 Jan 2007

The High Altitude Observatory at NCAR invites applicants for several postdoctoral research positions beginning in the autumn of 2007. Appointments are usually for 12 months, with the possibility of extension to a second year. Appointees are expected to pursue research in collaboration with members of the HAO staff and long-term visitors, perhaps continuing research projects which have been initiated at their home institutions.

HAO conducts research on the Sun's interior, its atmosphere and heliosphere, its magnetism and variability, and the terrestrial impact of solar output. Topics such as radiative transfer, hydrodynamics, magnetohydrodynamics, radiation hydrodynamics, and plasma physics are pursued both for their fundamental physical interests and for their applications in the above areas of research.
