The Laboratoire de Physique et Chimie de l'Environnement (LPCE) invites applications for a postdoctoral research associate position. The successful applicant will interface with ongoing research program that concentrate on theoretical and experimental studies of loss-cone instabilities and turbulence in the vicinity the Earth bow shock and plasmapause making use of the data of Cluster. The associate researcher should be an internationally recognised scientific fellow who will play a leading role in the research project and, in particular, in organization of the partnership with other Institutes involved in Cluster project. He should have good background in plasma physics, in theory of plasma instabilities and nonlinear processes, and an experience in data processing of wave data in space projects. He should have a basic knowledge of collisionless shocks physics. Specific knowledge in the physics of the Earth's plasmasphere and magnetosphere will be a plus. Initial appointment is anticipated for one year, with renewal likely for a second year. Application should include a curriculum vitae, publication list, short description of research interests.
