A vacancy exists in the Sun-Earth Connections Programme at BAS which aims to treat the atmosphere as an amalgamated whole and investigate linkages through the sun-earth system. The successful candidate be part of the HOLISTIC project team and will focus on the middle and upper atmosphere, studying vertical coupling processes and the ways in which these are influenced by changing solar, geomagnetic and anthropogenic drivers. The role will involve analysing data from a wide range of sources and exploring the dynamical processes which connect variability at different levels of the atmosphere, as well as determining the long-term effect these have.
You must have post-graduate experience in middle or upper atmospheric research or another relevant area of study.
