Postdoc at the Space Research Inst. of the Austrian Academy of Sciences - due 15 Jan
1 Year full-time position of a Post-Doc Physicist or Mathematician at the Space Research Institute of the Austrian Academy of Sciences starting at 1 February, 2006
You have a PhD in physics or mathematics and you like to join an innovative team of scientists in the field of Extraterrestrial Physics, which is involved in spacecraft data evaluation and interpretation. You regard good communication skills, flexibility and working on own initiative as a matter of course, and you have the following qualifications. Job Description:
- Application of mathematical methods for the evaluation of spacecraft data
- Implementation of numerical algorithms
- Statistical data evaluation and signal processing
- Development of physical models in comparison with measurement data
Qualifications:
- PhD in mathematics or physics
- Good knowledge of the English language
- Good skills and experience in IDL programming, Fortran (or C) and ev. Matlab
Advantageous Experience and Knowledge:
- Basic knowledge in digital signal processing and statistics
- Electrodynamics, in particular experience in the analysis of receivers, antennas, electric and magnetic field sensors.
