The Australian Antarctic Division (AAD) seeks a productive and enthusiastic scientist to take a leading role in our team researching the role of Antarctica in the global climate system. The duties will involve planning, implementing, undertaking and managing innovative and relevant collaborative atmospheric research, with major emphasis on observational and model studies of atmospheric composition and dynamics associated with the polar stratosphere and troposphere.

The duties will largely focus on research and management related to the AAD's lidar instrumentation in Antarctica, including analysis of data, presentation of results, design and operation of observing programs and instrumentation, management and quality control of data, selection, supervision and training of field personnel, and participation in Antarctic field work. ,p> The successful applicant will possess a PhD or equivalent in a relevant scientific discipline, have a strong demonstrated record of research achievement and experience in relevant areas of atmospheric science, have a strong background in the management of collaborative research projects and research staff and have strong organizational and teamwork skills. Post-doctoral experience in a research environment appropriate to the duties of the position is essential.

This position is open to Australian citizens. Relocation expenses may be paid by the Australian Antarctic Division.
